About the event

Come join us for the second and last SUNDANCE of the season! The sunsets have been incredible, and this dance is in Ode to the majestic beauty that surrounds us. As we all know, the weather will start turning darker soon, so we are taking another opportunity to gather as a dance community and bring our practice OUT in the world!

Before the hum of September begins—before the calendars fill and the pace quickens—we gather under the open sky for Sundance: An Ode to the Sun. This is an invitation to honour the last golden stretch of summer with our bodies, our breath, and our bare feet on the earth. Outdoors and in silent disco style, we'll move together in reverence and celebration, letting rhythm carry us into the radiance of the setting sun.

This special evening will unfold in two waves: the first, guided by Hassti, will draw us gently toward the sun’s descent—warming the heart, softening the edges, preparing us to receive the beauty of the moment. As twilight deepens, Gloria will lead the second wave, dancing us into the liminal magic of day's end.

Let the light pour in, stir your joy, and mark this tender pause before life gathers its momentum once more.

A moment to breathe, to feel, to remember the magic that lives in the spectacular beauty of Nature.

About 5Rhythms:

Created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms® is a philosophy, perspective, performance art, and a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor, reaching across all languages, cultures and age groups to transform suffering into art, art into awareness, and awareness into action. Wherever the 5Rhythms are practiced, a community is born to dance, to sweat, to change, to support, and to provide a safe space for each of us to shatter the ego’s hold and awaken the juicy, unpredictable, fascinating, edge-walking, rock star part of ourselves that yearns to be free. Creativity. Connection. Community.

About Gloria:

As long as I can remember, I have been dancing; but It wasn’t until I found 5Rhythms, that I truly understood why I needed to dance.  After dancing my first wave in 2013, I embarked on the most profound, expansive, and transformative journey through the many layers that this practice offers.  Dance has become a vehicle for healing, freedom, liberation, and ecstasy.

My 5Rhythms practice has opened my body, mind, spirit, and awareness into the manifestation of Mandalic Visionary Art, and the creation of a Retreat Center in the heart of the jungle of Belize, where I host regular Immersions and Retreats.  As a teacher, I offer regular 5Rhythms® classes in Belize and Vancouver, BC.

I invite people into a Sanctuary for Body and Spirit to merge. Through Breath, Presence, Ritual, and Rhythms, my invitation is to feel, remember, listen, expand, express, release, re-arrange, re-define, transform, and allow the dance to open ourselves to the infinite capacity of Love.
